FINALLY something to blog about!!! This morning started out SO cool. Normally I would be less than thrilled about being jarred awake at 5 am after not going to sleep until 2 am...but today, it was all totally worth it.
I woke up to my ambulance pager going off for a pregnant female, possibly in labor. Since I wasn't on duty I turned my pager down and rolled back over, per usual. Then they updated the page and said the baby was definitely coming, and the address was in my complex, just around the corner from me. Me and Jas jumped up and got dressed (if there ever was a world-record for speed-dressing, I'm sure we broke it) and jumped in the car.
As we ran into the house, I had time to get one glove half-way on before I was delivering the baby!!! Her little head was about halfway out, and with a push or two more, she was born right there in Mom's bed.
It was the coolest thing ever!! She was a cute little baby girl, 8 pounds. (I'm not sure how long she was.)
It's kinda funny...I was just saying a few days ago that I would love to be able to deliver a baby sometime beforeI quit the ambulance. Not that I plan on that happening anytime soon, but who knows how life goes!!
It was really one of the neatest, most exciting calls I have ever been on! and although they didn't name the baby after me (it always happened on Rescue 911!) I was so excited to be able to help bring that little baby into the world.
We are going to visit them in the hospital tomorrow, so hopefully I can get a couple pics...stay tuned!
In other news, check out http://www.everylittlemomentphoto.blogspot.com (our other blog...don't know why the hyperlink won't work)...for some pictures of the cutest little girl from our latest session.
