I wish I was artistic and/or creative. If I was, I would write a long flowery poem about this awesome machine. I would lovingly list the many many fresh fruits and veggies I have had the pleasure of eating over the last 2 weeks. I would describe the amazingly fast chopping, mixing, heating, blending, and the many other verbs it accomplishes in seconds.
Alas, no such poem will be found here. I can tell you, however, that never has a better $400 been spent on a kitchen appliance. I have used this thing almost every single day at least once, sometimes two and three times.
Every morning I start off with a fruit smoothie. It easily packs all my servings of fruit and at least one serving of veggies, all before 6 am. (I work early....being functional at this ungodly hour is not by choice)
We have also made 2 different soups, several kinds of ice cream, fruit sorbet, and many more items to be tried. Is there anything the Vita-Mix can't do?!
(well, yes. It cannot take a bunch of ingredients that don't go together and make tasty ice cream. see below. This was attempt #1 at ice cream, but we decided to ignore the recipe book and make it up. I don't recommend this until you are more familiar with your ingredients....)
Other than our verrrrry iffy "ice cream", I have yet to encounter a recipe that isn't a hit. There was a debatable vegetable soup puree incident that Anne made (in her matching Vita-Mix!) . . . .it ended up with a 1 thumb up, 3 thumbs down vote. I happened to be the thumbs up, but some say my taste was altered due to pregnancy. Whatever.
Expect to read more about this in the future. This week I am trying another soup recipe. I love how easy and fast everything I have made so far is, and how delish. and fresh. and healthy. (We're talking 0 grams of fat, 90 calories per serving ICE CREAM here, folks!)
Thank you, kind of pushy Costco Vita-Mix Demonstrator lady. You rock my world.
