Obviously this was a while ago

Yeah, this was early in the summer. Made obvious by the fact that my baby is still wee in these photos, and today he sat next to a 1 week old which made it blatantly clear to me that he is now a huge man child and will probably go on his first date soon.

Sigh.

Anyway, Jason finally got his citizenship*! Yay! We got to go to a (kinda long, pretty boring) swearing in ceremony where he took an oath and became all official. I kind felt like a jerk, cuz there were so many people in tears, celebrating their long hard journey to citizenship and I was all, yeah, we just want to go on a cruise, and maybe to Europe, and it would be great if Jason can get back in the country after the trip.

(funny side note, there was one guy who stood up and tearfully gave thanks about his citizenship, and said it meant so much to him because now he could finally realize his dream of becoming a firefighter. I wonder if it would bum him out to know that Jas has been a firefighter for 8 years, sans citizenship?)

Anyway, we are happy its done with, and I'm going to encourage anyone who applies to citizenship to fill out the right form the first time, because if you don't it will delay you mucho long and probably make you lose $500 to the government. (Even if it was their fault you filled out the wrong form to begin with.)

*This does not in any way mean you have to stop making racist Mexican jokes. Heaven knows I won't.

I read this post a few weeks back and meant to comment. You are hilarious, Aubrey. Congrats to Jason.
