I guess I should include a few more details about the whole baby thing.

Which just so happens to be our third anniversary. And mothers day. I was excited at first, but now I'm hoping he/she comes early, cuz I really don't want to share those 2 days. No good for anyone. Sorry, kid, your birthday is canceled this year. Momma and daddy are going to the BAHAMAS! (also, to bring out the fat kid in me, there is a really amazing mothers day brunch that I look forward to every year, and a hospital stay would really mess up that plan)

I am 9 weeks along according to my ultrasound, and things look good so far. I have had very little nausea, but have been very sleepy. I'll take it. We got to see and hear the heartbeat on Monday, so cool!

For now we are just sitting back and waiting for the exciting stuff to happen. It still doesn't seem quite real, just because not much has changed in my day to day life. (other than more naps than usual!) We are anxiously awaiting to find out if it will be a boy or girl (sidebar poll, anyone?) so we can move forward with the planning details. I'm really loving this for a girl...NOT, however, loving the price. If it turns out to be a girl, I'm tossing the idea around of making my own version of this. Can't decide yet if I am completely crazy or not. Jason's grandma has made lots of them, she says it is easy and she will help me. (still though....I can sew a straight-ish seam, and thats kinda the end of my sewing abilities.) We'll see.

Also, calling all pregnant people and have-been pregnant people: when can I start blaming things on "pregnancy brain"? I am not far along at all but I swear I am so spacey lately. I can't remember where I put things 30 seconds later, I forget everything, I lose my train of thought, lock my keys in my car...you name it.

All in all, its been a very fun and exciting experience so far, and we are looking forward to the rest of it!

So You Think You Can Dance (dance...dance...dance..)

So I have never really watched much of this show, but every time I do watch it I enjoy it. Anne does not feel the same way (read: she never misses an episode) therefore I ended up watching a lot of this past season.

A few months ago Anne talked us into buying tickets to the tour, and we had a blast! They did so many of the dances I LOVED from the season, and we had a great time overall.

We were going to eat dinner at a place Anne's sister Heather recommended and raved about. It did not go well. Please take note of the bullet holes and other damage.

All in all, we had a great time, and I'll probably actually watch next season. (maybe even DVR it, oooh)

Sigh.

I have done it again. Let all just acknowledge the big, purple almost-2-month-long elephant in the room, and move past my serious lack of all things blog.

The worst thing about falling off the blogging wagon is how much you have to catch up on when you return.

First things first. Yes, I got all my camera equipment back, safe and sound. Thank heaven and all that is holy, because DANG that would have sucked.

October is going to be a BUSY month for me. 6 days (and 2 weddings!) in Wisconsin , 2 days in St. George for a reception, 2 days in southern Cali for a family session, 2 baby/child sessions, 1 family session, 1 engagement session, 3 birthdays...whew!

Jas and I spent a fun-filled, sun-filled week in St. George and Vegas with Anne & Jason.

Just in case

So, if your air conditioning ever goes out, forcing you to take your car to the dealer for repair, and it takes longer than necessary because they force you to buy all sorts of different parts in attempt to diagnose the problem....

AND if they tell you it is fixed, but when you come to pick it up, it is, in fact, NOT fixed, and then overheats due to the non-fixedness of it all, forcing you to take it BACK, oh and also they broke your windshield in their carwash....

BUT THEN they give you a really sweet rental to 'make up' for all your trouble, and actually end up getting your car fixed in a timely matter this time and when you get your car back the AC is now frigid cold and you have a shiny new windshield and everything seems to be back to normal in your crazy life...

probably, you should not leave over $3000 worth of camera gear in the back of your rental when you turn it back in. And probably you should realize it before they rent it out to someone else.

I'm just sayin'.

State Fire Testing

Last Saturday we had our big state Firefighter test. Talk about nerve wracking! We have been in class since March, and I was so burned out. It was a Haz-Mat, Firefighter I and Firefighter II class all crammed into one, with one long marathon test day.

There was last minute cramming all around.


We had 2 written tests in the morning followed by a long afternoon of practical tests. We had to do put our SCBA's on in under 1 minute, roll fire hose in under 1 minute, put a "car fire" out, crawl under the garage in full gear to simulate a confined space escape, raise a ladder, demonstrate extrication, and a few other skills.

There were a few breaks to cool off (and cram for what the next test would be!)

AND....I got my letters back from the state a few days ago and I passed all my tests! WOOT! It was a long and exhausting class, but I'm so happy it is over (and that I actually passed)

I'm not even going to apologize this time for my lack of all things blog. Because an apology would suggest that I intend to not do it again. While that may be my intent, its probably not very plausible, so lets all just accept that fact and move on.
So, here we go....

We spent a nice warm July 4th weekend in St. George. We got to see Jaiden again and I bought her the cuest 4th of July outfit ever.


It was over 100 degrees the entire time we were there. We got to lay in the pool, go shopping, BBQ and play Wii.



Jason was pretty smitten with Jaiden. Maybe we will have to get ourselves one of those soon.
